A Very interesting programme. As a therapist who trained for several years, became qualified, is insured and registered with the BACP I take my work very seriously. The consequence of poor support can be devastating to the individual and their family. If you ever need to find a therapist it is easy (when you know how) to check their validity and qualifications by contacting the governing bodies. Various governing bodies including BACP who I am a registered member of, provide details of QUALIFIED counsellors. We have to provide evidence of qualifications and are also audited ad hoc, to make sure we follow their ethical guidelines. That we are continuing our education and professional development, to enable us to provide the best and safest counselling we can. Please do not be afraid to ask your therapist or the BACP questions.
